Caregiving Jobs

We all do jobs and business to earn the livelihood and there is nothing wrong with it. Having said that there are few professions like caregiving jobs, which are not only good as far as monetary aspect is concerned, but also considered noble considering serving the humanity factor. Among caregiving employments serving senior citizens takes the nobility factor to whole new levels as assisting the helpless, old and weak people to manage to live on their own is something even more satisfying. Such jobs obviously were always there in informal way. However, in the last ten to twenty years with the advent of many agencies providing senior care services, jobs for senior caregiving are now a very viable and attractive career path. Like a fireman is not the only person employed at a fire station, senior caregiving jobs are not all about actually visiting and caring the senior citizens. There are many other job opportunities at the caregiving agencies as well, like Managers, supervisors, schedulers and obviously caregivers. Apart from the personal preferences of clients, there is no gender biasness in hiring the required staff. Normal nursing skills are required to become successful caregivers. There is no need to mention when the job is about helping elders and doing and helping tasks like making food, personal care, helping them in taking baths and using bathroom for other purposes, making sure they are taking right medicines at given time, doing prescribed physical activity, etc, possessing a friendly and caring personality is the most important prerequisite soft skill. Caring personality is even more critical for the people looking for caregiving jobs, who have to take care of paralyzed elders or the elders facing memory loss diseases like Alzheimer. These people need extra care as the paralyzed are totally helpless and dependent on caregivers to do even the most trivial of the tasks like eating, drinking water, etc. Similarly, people facing memory loss due to ageing or some disease have to be monitored and assisted continuously to make sure they are alright. Depending on the condition of the elders, it is decided if the help is needed partially or full time (lives-in service), with living in caregiving jobs costing and paying more to patient and caregivers respectively. If a person is associated with an agency, it means that company will provide replacement for his or her shift when it is required to take a shift or two off. Other normal benefits are also provided as any employer has to provide to its staff per the state law.
