Forbes sports franchise rankings 2010
Forbes has released its list of the 2010 world’s most valuable Forbes sports franchise rankings 2010, with soccer power Manchester United leading the list for the second year in a row.
The English soccer club owned by American Malcolm Glazer has been valued at $1.87 billion, up $70 million from Forbes 2009 valuation.
The top 10 sports franchises remained intact from last year’s list, with the only shift in the rankings seeing the New York Yankees move up one spot to No. 4.
The Yankees are the only MLB club among the top 10. Manchester United, along with Real Madrid and Arsenal, are the three soccer clubs to be among the most valuable.
That also gives the Cowboys the highest worth of any U.S. team, and makes them second only to Manchester United of the English Premier League, valued at $1.9 billion, among franchises worldwide forbes sports franchise rankings 2010.
The New York Yankees are worth $1.7 billion, according to Forbes' most recent baseball calculations.

According to Forbes, the global economic downturn had little effect on the world’s soccer powers. European soccer, with long-term broadcasting and sponsorship deals, has mostly sidestepped the recession. Clubs gained $42 million in value per team during the past year.
The top 25 franchises all had valuations of at least $1 billion, with 19 NFL teams, five soccer clubs and the Yankees rounding out the list.
The Los Angeles Lakers are the most valuable NBA franchise with Forbes estimating their worth at $607 million. The Toronto Maples Leafs are the NHL’s most valuable franchise, worth $470 million.
