Aviation Mechanic Salary
The aviation mechanic salary is determined by a lot of factors. This makes it hard to determine the exact amount that the experts are paid as the number of factors varies a lot. The following are some of the factors that are considered when determining the exact category in which the expert falls in.
The average aviation mechanic salary in US is $75,858. This figure was attained after comparing thousands of certified professionals working in different HR departments. The professionals whose data was collected are persons that are involved in ensuring that planes are working in safely, serving engines, air frame components and engine components. The experts are also responsible for modifying and replacing tires, wires and other basic instruments. Mechanics also determine the right weather conditions for the planes to fly.
A technician is at least supposed to have acquired a high school diploma or another equivalent qualification. Formal training in the area of specialty and a period of apprentice too is required before an individual is allowed to practice in the industry. The level of education determines salary of the professionally. As you would expect, the higher the education level the better the salary.
Experience also counts in the industry. A fresh graduate from one of the prestigious universities in the world cannot compare to a veteran who went to a local college and have been in the industry for more than two decades. There is big difference between theoretical experience and handy experience that can only be acquired by an expert after spending a lot of time on the ground.
The employer is another important factor. The aviation mechanic salary varies a lot from one company to the other. Internationally based companies tend to have more attractive payment packages than the locally based organizations as a result of large economics of scale.
The location of the station also tends to determine the salary of the expert. A mechanic working in America is paid differently from another working in Asia probably for the same company. When determining your salary, remember to include your location.
The nature of the working environment also determines aviation mechanic salary. A mechanic working for the army in a war zone is remunerated better than an expert working in repairing civilian planes. An expert working in a safe environment might even be more skilled than the expert working in the dangerous zones but the hardship and comfort allowances of the experts make their salary to be higher.
